Husk only · de-seeded · 500 g

$28.00 per 500 g pack
In stock Free retail shipping over $150.00

The Himalayan Sichuan pepper — citrus, pine and the numbing tingle. De-seeded, because the black seed is grit and contributes nothing but crunch.

Despatched in 1–2 working days from Kathmandu on stock lines, tracked the whole way.
30-day retail returns on anything unused and unopened. Faulty or wrongly described, we cover the freight.
Declared at its real value. We do not under-declare and we do not mark commercial goods as gifts.
Handwork varies. Tool marks, grain and small colour shifts are characteristics, not faults.

About this product

Timur is harvested wild from Zanthoxylum growing on the hill slopes; it is not cultivated at any scale. The flavour is brighter and more citric than Chinese Sichuan pepper, with the same tingling numbness.

We supply husk only. Most cheap timur is sold with the seed in, which adds weight and subtracts flavour. De-seeding is done by hand.

Toast it briefly and grind it fresh. Ground timur that has sat in a jar for a year is just dust.

How it was made

Wild-harvested, sun-dried, hand de-seeded — Mid-hills, western Nepal.

Sourced from Wild-harvest collector groups.

Care & keeping

Airtight, away from light. The tingle fades faster than the smell.

Shipping, duty & returns

Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.

Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
