A dried alpine allium used across Nepali highland cooking. Somewhere between chive and onion, and it needs hot fat to release anything at all.

30-day retail returns on anything unused and unopened. Faulty or wrongly described, we cover the freight.
Declared at its real value. We do not under-declare and we do not mark commercial goods as gifts.
Handwork varies. Tool marks, grain and small colour shifts are characteristics, not faults.

About this product

Jimbu is gathered above the treeline and dried. It looks like dried grass and smells of almost nothing in the pack, which puts people off until they use it correctly.

The method is not optional: hot ghee or oil, a pinch of jimbu, ten seconds, then whatever you are cooking. Added to liquid it does nothing.

Standard in dal across the Nepali highlands and increasingly hard to find outside them.

How it was made

Wild-gathered, shade-dried — Highland districts, northern Nepal.

Sourced from Wild-harvest collector groups.

Care & keeping

Airtight and dark. Two years, easily.

Shipping, duty & returns

Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.

Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
