Export documentation

Every certificate a Nepali consignment can need, what it proves, and which side produces it.

Nothing here is a surprise if it is planned for. Almost all of it is a problem if it is not.

Issued by us, on every consignment

  • Commercial invoice — goods, value, incoterm, currency, parties, HS codes.
  • Packing list — carton count and contents, net and gross weight, dimensions.
  • Certificate of origin — issued through a Nepali chamber of commerce. This is what gets you a preferential duty rate where one exists.

Issued by us, where the product requires it

  • Phytosanitary certificate — plant-origin goods: tea, spices, herbs, buckwheat.
  • Veterinary health certificate — animal-origin goods, meaning the yak-cheese chews.
  • Pesticide residue analysis — accredited lab. Mandatory for tea into the EU. Adds about a week.
  • ISPM 15 heat-treatment stamp — all solid wood packaging and wooden goods.
  • Non-antique declaration — thangka, cast bronze figures, carved panels.

Issued by the carrier

  • Bill of lading (sea) or air waybill (air). Check the draft before issue.

Your side

  • Import licence or registration where your market requires one.
  • Customs entry, duty and tax.
  • An EU Responsible Person for cosmetic products. This is a legal role that must sit with an entity established in the market, so it cannot be us.

HS codes

Every product page shows an indicative HS code. It is a real code matched to that class of goods and it is a starting point for your broker — not a ruling. Final classification is decided by the customs authority at the port of entry, and where a classification is borderline we would rather discuss it before shipping than argue about it afterwards.

Before you order

Tell us the destination country and the product lines. We will come back with the certificate list for that combination and what it adds to the lead time. If your market does not permit something we sell, we would much rather find that out at the enquiry stage.
