Jambati Singing Bowl, 26 cm

Hand-beaten · heavy wall · low C

$520.00
Only 1 left Free retail shipping over $150.00

The big one. Curved wall, inward lip, a great deal of metal for the diameter — which is what buys the depth and the length of the note.

Only 1 in stock. Handwork cannot be reordered to an identical specification.

Despatched in 1–2 working days from Kathmandu on stock lines, tracked the whole way.
30-day retail returns on anything unused and unopened. Faulty or wrongly described, we cover the freight.
Declared at its real value. We do not under-declare and we do not mark commercial goods as gifts.
Handwork varies. Tool marks, grain and small colour shifts are characteristics, not faults.

About this product

Jambati bowls are the large curved-wall form, and they are the hardest to raise because the metal work-hardens faster the further it is drawn. A bowl this size takes a team the better part of two days and far more annealing cycles than a small one.

The payoff is at the bottom of the range: a fundamental near low C that arrives in the room before you consciously hear it. Rimmed slowly it builds over five or six seconds and then holds.

One of these exists. Handwork cannot be reordered to specification, so when it is gone the next one will be a different bowl with a different note.

How it was made

Hand-raised, extended annealing — Patan, Lalitpur.

Sourced from Patan metalworking workshop.

Producer descriptions on this site are sourcing categories rather than named suppliers. Named-supplier disclosure is available to trade buyers under NDA — ask when you request a quote.

Care & keeping

Dry cloth. Support the base when moving it — three kilos of bronze does not forgive a dropped edge.

Shipping, duty & returns

Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.

Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
