$72.00 per 100 g tin
In stock Free retail shipping over $150.00

Unopened buds only, withered in shade and sun and then barely touched. The least processed tea we sell and the most expensive per gram, for the obvious reason.

Despatched in 1–2 working days from Kathmandu on stock lines, tracked the whole way.
30-day retail returns on anything unused and unopened. Faulty or wrongly described, we cover the freight.
Declared at its real value. We do not under-declare and we do not mark commercial goods as gifts.
Handwork varies. Tool marks, grain and small colour shifts are characteristics, not faults.

About this product

White tea is defined by what is not done to it. There is no rolling and no deliberate oxidation — the leaf is withered, dried and left alone. That makes the raw material the whole story, and the raw material here is buds only, plucked by hand in a window of a few days.

The liquor is very pale and easy to under-brew. Use water off the boil at about 80 °C, three minutes, and expect something closer to melon and hay than to tea as most people know it.

A hundred grams is a lot of tea at this leaf-to-weight ratio. It will outlast a black tea of the same weight by a wide margin.

How it was made

Withered and dried, no rolling — Ilam district, Koshi Province.

Sourced from Single-garden lot, ~1,900 m.

Care & keeping

Airtight and cool. Improves slightly for the first year, then holds.

Shipping, duty & returns

Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.

Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
