About this product
This is the plain end of what the Bhaktapur workshops make — no carving, just good joinery in a wood that does not move much.
Mortise and tenon throughout, wedged and glued. There is no metal in the frame, which means it can be knocked apart and re-wedged decades from now rather than thrown away when a screw strips.
Oil finish. It will mark, and the marks will darken and even out. A lacquer would resist that and then chip.
How it was made
Hand-planed, mortise and tenon — Bhaktapur.

Care & keeping
Re-oil once a year. Wipe spills rather than letting them sit.
Shipping, duty & returns
Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.
Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.
Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
