About this product
Monastery incense is compounded from a list of herbs and woods that reads more like a pharmacopoeia than a perfume: sandalwood, agarwood, clove, saffron, various barks and roots.
The result is dry, slightly medicinal and bitter at the edges. People who expect nag champa are usually surprised. People who have spent time in a gompa recognise it immediately.
Coreless, so it burns clean, and long — a 19 cm stick runs about an hour.
How it was made
Hand-extruded, coreless — Kathmandu.
Sourced from Incense workshop, Kathmandu.

Producer descriptions on this site are sourcing categories rather than named suppliers. Named-supplier disclosure is available to trade buyers under NDA — ask when you request a quote.
Care & keeping
Keep the tube capped. Burn in a holder that catches ash.
Shipping, duty & returns
Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.
Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.
Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
