Lokta's fibres run long and cross each other, which is what makes it strong and what makes it scatter light instead of blocking it. Put a lamp behind a sheet and the whole surface lights up unevenly, in a good way.
The shade collapses flat for shipping and springs back on a sprung wire frame. Standard E27 fitting.
Use an LED lamp. It is a paper shade and there is no sensible argument for putting a hot filament inside it.
