About this product

The binding is the useful part. Sewn signatures with an exposed spine mean no glue, no forced curve, and a book that lies flat from page one — which anyone who has fought a glued notebook will appreciate.

The paper is unbleached lokta, which is slightly textured and slightly translucent. Fountain pen behaves well on it; heavy fibre-tips will ghost through.

Cover is a heavier lokta sheet over board, block-printed by hand, so the registration is not perfect and the colour varies between copies.

How it was made

Hand-made paper, hand-sewn signatures — Baglung (paper), Kathmandu (binding).

Sourced from Paper-making and binding workshop.

Lokta Paper & Stationery — Baglung & Kathmandu. See the rest of this category.

Producer descriptions on this site are sourcing categories rather than named suppliers. Named-supplier disclosure is available to trade buyers under NDA — ask when you request a quote.

Care & keeping

Lokta is strong but absorbent. Keep it out of the rain and it will outlast you.

Shipping, duty & returns

Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.

Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
