Ilam Green Tea, Pan-Fired

Unoxidised · pan-fixed · 250 g

$26.00 per 250 g pouch
In stock Free retail shipping over $150.00

Fixed in a hot pan rather than steamed, which gives it a toasted, nutty edge instead of the marine note of a Japanese green.

Despatched in 1–2 working days from Kathmandu on stock lines, tracked the whole way.
30-day retail returns on anything unused and unopened. Faulty or wrongly described, we cover the freight.
Declared at its real value. We do not under-declare and we do not mark commercial goods as gifts.
Handwork varies. Tool marks, grain and small colour shifts are characteristics, not faults.

About this product

Oxidation is stopped by heat, and how you apply that heat changes the tea completely. Pan-firing — the Chinese method, and the one Nepali producers mostly use — leaves a rounder, toastier cup than steaming does.

This is an everyday lot rather than a showpiece: forgiving to brew, good at 80 °C for two minutes, and it will take a second and third infusion without going bitter.

Our most-reordered tea by volume among café and refill-shop buyers.

How it was made

Pan-fired fixation, rolled, dried — Ilam district, Koshi Province.

Sourced from Smallholder gardens, 1,200–1,600 m.

Care & keeping

Green tea fades faster than black. Airtight, cool, and drink within 12 months.

Shipping, duty & returns

Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.

Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
