Rock salt from the Himalayan range, coarse-crystal and unrefined. The colour is iron oxide in trace amounts; it is salt, and we are not going to pretend it is a mineral supplement.
The grinder mechanism is ceramic. Steel mechanisms rust in contact with salt, which is why so many salt grinders seize within a year.
