About this product

Hemp on its own is stiff for table linen. Blending it with cotton at sixty-forty keeps the strength and the texture but gives it enough drape to sit properly over an edge.

The weft is hand-spun, which is where the irregular slub comes from. A machine-spun yarn would give a flat, even cloth and lose the whole character of it.

Hem-stitched by hand at both ends rather than machine-hemmed.

How it was made

Handloom woven, hand hem-stitched — Kathmandu Valley.

Sourced from Handloom weaving workshop.

Hemp & Allo Textiles — Sankhuwasabha. See the rest of this category.

Producer descriptions on this site are sourcing categories rather than named suppliers. Named-supplier disclosure is available to trade buyers under NDA — ask when you request a quote.

Care & keeping

Machine wash cool, warm iron. It will soften and shrink about 3% on the first wash.

Shipping, duty & returns

Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.

Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
