About this product
Sold to studios, teaching workshops and hand-weavers who would rather build their own cloth than buy ours.
Hand-spun means the grist varies along the length. It is not a commercial yarn and will not behave like one — expect to adjust tension as you go, and expect the finished fabric to bloom and soften considerably after its first wash.
Undyed. Allo takes natural dye well and synthetic dye unevenly, which is worth knowing before you commit a whole hank.
How it was made
Hand-spun on a drop spindle — Sankhuwasabha, Koshi Province.
Sourced from Eastern hills spinning groups.
Hemp & Allo Textiles — Sankhuwasabha. See the rest of this category.
Producer descriptions on this site are sourcing categories rather than named suppliers. Named-supplier disclosure is available to trade buyers under NDA — ask when you request a quote.
Care & keeping
Wind before working. Wash the finished piece, not the hank.
Shipping, duty & returns
Retail orders leave Kathmandu within two working days of payment clearing and are tracked throughout. Free over $150.00; a flat $24.00 below that.
Import duty and tax in your own country are not included and are payable by you. We declare goods at their real value.
Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging. Food, tea, spices, honey and cosmetics are not returnable once opened, which is a food-safety position rather than a commercial one.
